One of a pair of masks that fit one over the other, The inner mask, which has pierced eyes, is in the Musee de lHomme, Paris. Despite the weight of the mask it appears that during winter rituals it was worn over the face, perhaps supported by the hands. Northwest Coast of America. Tsimshian. collected from Kitkatla village in 1879. Age unknown but probaby BC.
