A mask carved to represent the moon, It was probably used in the Dluwulaxa Society dance series. In it, heavenly bodies were called to the earth, their entrance into the dance house being preceeded by the blare of wooden trumpets. Eventually the masked dancer entered the house and circled the fire. Northwest Coast of America. Kwakiutl.
