Jade portrait head inscribed with glyphs on reverse, Members of the ruling lineage wore these heads suspended from belts or on head dresses. Found at Copan, it is named for a lord at Palenque. It has been suggested it may have belonged to the mother of Yax Pac, last king of Copan, who was from Palenque.Reverse Honduras. Maya. 600 800 AD. Found at Copan.
