The process involved suspending pigment in wax which was then applied to a shallow wooden panel. Egypt. Ancient Egyptian. Roman, 1st 2nd C BC. Fayum. Material/ Size : Gilded wood & incrustatons of ivory and jet, H=29.5 cm.
