Two fragments of the Battlefield Palette ( obverse ), The upper section shows standards of deities, with human hands, escorting bound captives. Beside this is a bordered circular depression where eye paint was ground. The lower section shows the king as a lion and vultures preying on bodies after battle. Egypt. Ancient Egyptian. late Predynastic c 3050 BC. probably from Abydos.
