Pectoral ornament in the form of a double headed serpent, One of the symbols of Tlaloc, it was worn by a high priest. Probably formed part of the treasure sent to Cortes by Montezuma who believed Cortes to be the returning god Quetzalcoatl. Mexico. Aztec/ Mixtec. c 1400 1521.
