When 26 yr old Eve Phillips, a London mannequin, married Alan Bertram, 31, estate agent, they planned to have a baby, and Eve realized that she would have to give up modeling as to baby¿ birth drew near. But although she expects a child by next March, yesterday (today) Eve was back at her work of modeling in a London hotel once again. She had been introduced to fashion designer J. Westfield a few days ago who told Eve he was putting on a fashion show of maternity and outsize dresses and hers would be just the figure with which to show off the finer points of his designs to the buyers. He added that the show was going to held in a suite of rooms and there would be a bed for Eve to rest on before and after the show. Eve thought it a fine idea and yesterday began a week of twice daily showings of maternity gowns. She is the only mannequin who is actually expecting a baby. ¿hey make a great fuss of me¿ she told the D.M. ¿eals are sent in and I was asked if there was anything special I would like to have. But I¿ not on a diet and although we live in a flat baby will be born at home¿ ¿ook, I¿ to be a mother in March and you¿ never know¿ Eve tells some of the buyers at the show. She is wearing a satin backed rayon maternity gown printed with an Egyptian design. It is 7 coupons and although non Utility sells for about £6. December 1948 P020671
