France. Pont-Aven ou la cité des peintres ! Le Musée rassemble quelques 200 peintures et œuvres sur papier de la célèbre "Ecole de Pont-Aven" dont de nombreuses œuvres de Paul Gauguin, Emile Bernard, Paul Serusier ou encore Maurice Denis. Ici : En 1901, le peintre Pierre Girieud découvre la vision novatrice de la peinture de Gauguin par l'intermédiaire de son ami Durrio. En 1902, il part sur les traces de l'artiste en Bretagne. Cette œuvre représente Gauguin, au sein d'une composition inspirée de la Cène, dans laquelle l'artiste partage un repas avec ses disciples, de gauche à droite : Pierre Girieud, Roderic O’Conor, George-Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Sérusier, Paco Durrio, Gustave Fayet, Maurice Denis, Charles Morice, Georges Dufrenoy et Raoul de Mathan.

The Museum brings together some 200 paintings and works on paper from the famous "School of Pont-Aven" including many works by Paul Gauguin, Emile Bernard, Paul Sérusier or Maurice Denis. Here: In 1901, the painter Pierre Girieud discovered Gauguin's innovative vision of painting through his friend Durrio. In 1902, he followed in the artist's footsteps in Brittany.
