On the left a rounded temple-like building with columns is partially visible beyond an arched stone bridge topped with a statue. In the center background a dome and other masonry structures peek through foliage. The foreground features a group of people in flowing drapery and armor, some embracing and others gesturing, with spears and shields among them. To the left foreground figures are seated or kneeling near vessels and a small brazier, and further back more small figures move along a stairway and avenue lined with trees. Textured hatching and fine lines render stonework, tree bark, and fabric folds throughout the composition.
