The left medallion shows a stern male profile wearing a tall, ornate papal-style crown with layered bands and a small cross at the top, a ribbon hanging from the crown, and layered clothing or fur at the neck; fine line shading defines facial features and headgear. The right medallion shows a different male profile wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a jester-like hood with small round bells at the points, with pronounced facial features and detailed hatching for texture. Both circles are bordered by rings and surrounded by decorative lettering along their rims, and there is a block of flowing cursive script centered above and reflected upside down below the medallions.
