State with the letter., Person, Philip III the Good, Isabella of Portugal, Hook and Cod Wars, Haarlem, Period, An etching shows a group of people standing before a large stone wall and a gate with towers; the foreground features two men facing each other, both holding hats, one slightly bowing and the other leaning forward with a hand near his chest, dressed in period clothing with doublets, breeches, and ruffled collars, and swords at their sides. To the right a woman in a voluminous gown and high ruff stands with her hands clasped, accompanied by another similarly dressed woman and a small child peeking from beside them. Behind the wall a tower with a conical roof and a small flag rises against a sky with clouds, and trees are visible beyond the fortification. The scene is rendered in fine lines and shading, creating detailed textures on clothing, stone, and foliage.
