Beneath the tree a group of people gather around a central figure who stands with outstretched arms; several others kneel or sit nearby with upraised hands and expressive gestures. The crowd fills the midground and extends into the background among more trees, where trunks and leafy canopies create a wooded setting. The scene includes varied postures and facial expressions among the figures, and shading and fine crosshatching render depth and texture throughout the foliage, tree bark, clothing, and ground.
