The left medallion shows a central building with a classical facade flanked by two rectangular multi-story wings, a row of standing soldiers in uniform holding long spears in front of the building, and cannons positioned near the edges; faint horizontal lines and shading define the ground and architectural details. The right medallion depicts a town square scene with a large ornate building with towers in the background, a line of soldiers firing muskets that produce clouds of smoke, a group of seated and standing figures gathered around a drum or barrel, a man pushing a wheelbarrow filled with round objects, and pairs of figures conversing or gesturing in the foreground, all rendered in fine line work and hatching.
