In the middle distance a small sailboat crosses the water toward a distant, low-lying shoreline with clustered trees and a few undulating hills. In the foreground left a group of people stand and sit on the shore, some wearing wide-brimmed hats and long garments, with one figure pointing toward the water and others facing the boats. The sky above is filled with layered, hatched clouds and streaked shading. The page shows faint, reversed impressions of text behind the image and margins of aged paper around the print.
