Amsterdam: J. van Gulik, 1802., horse, river, death by drowning (non-violent), A monochrome engraved scene showing a partially submerged man floating face up in a body of water with one arm raised and his hat floating nearby; the man wears a coat with visible cuffs and buttons and his hair is loose. Behind him a shoreline rises with tall trees and dense foliage, rocky outcrops, and a distant cluster of buildings including a pointed tower and round turrets. On the shore three figures stand, two facing the water and one holding a long object, all wearing long coats. In the upper portion of the image steep cliffs and large overhanging rocks are visible, with layered cloud or rock formations and a tall, curved tree branch extending across the sky. The image is bordered by decorative ruled lines and a rectangular panel containing framed horizontal bars and a line of printed lettering at the bottom.
