Amsterdam: J. van Gulik, 1802., cat, owls, rodents: rat, beasts of prey, predatory animals: weasel, A detailed monochrome engraving shows a wooded landscape with a waterfall flowing into a rocky stream, trees with textured bark and spreading branches, and dense foliage in the background. A tall tree in the foreground has a hammock or net draped from its lower trunk, within which an animal with pointed ears and a visible face lies. On the tree trunk above the hammock another small animal clings near a broken branch, and a third small animal is positioned higher on the trunk and appears to be peering outward. A bird with outstretched wings perches on a branch near the top of the tree. Rocks and flowing water are visible beneath the falls, and layered lines indicate sky and distant rock formations. The scene is bordered by decorative framing lines along the edges.
