The man has a rounded face, light-colored eyes, and short hair combed back; his expression is neutral. He wears a high-collared shirt beneath a double-breasted coat with lapels and visible buttons. The oval frame is set against a textured background of horizontal and crosshatched lines, and below the portrait is a rectangular panel bordered by parallel lines. The engraving uses dense stippling and hatching to render shadows and fabric texture.
