Amsterdam: Johannes Allart, 1786-1809., Person, Johannes Henricus Midderigh, A finely detailed black and white engraved portrait shows a man framed within an oval border set against a textured rectangular background. The man faces forward with a neutral expression, powdered hair styled away from the face and curled near the ears, dressed in period clothing including a high-collared shirt and a decorative tied cravat. Concentric lines form the oval frame and a patterned backdrop surrounds it, while below the oval a panel with horizontal and vertical linear textures occupies the lower portion of the image.
