Brouwer, An engraved portrait of an older man shown from the chest up inside an oval frame set within a rectangular architectural surround, the man wearing a patterned cap and a ruffled collar with a long beard and mustache, his expression neutral and his gaze slightly to one side, his clothing rendered with textured shading and decorative buttons down the front, the oval frame displaying concentric carved rings and the surrounding paneling filled with fine horizontal hatch marks, below the oval a rectangular pedestal with an inset rounded rectangle panel, all executed in detailed line engraving with uniform sepia-toned ink.
