Amsterdam: Johannes Allart, 1789-1809., weapons for striking a blow: club, (story of) Theseus, base (, column, pillar), Romulus as king of Rome, An engraved scene showing two oval medallion reliefs of classical profiles mounted on a stone structure, the upper medallion depicting a left-facing profile with long wavy hair and smooth facial features, the lower medallion showing a right-facing bearded profile with curled hair and a pronounced nose; the stone blocks behind them are textured with crosshatching and have decorative carved panels including one panel with a small relief of an animal and another with a standing draped figure; foliage and leafy branches frame the right side and top, and a rolled drapery or banner hangs beside the upper medallion, while plants and grass appear at the base in the foreground.
