On the left, a few men stand on the upper step near a doorway, one of them partially unclothed and another clad in armor gesturing outward. Descending and ascending figures fill the steps, some bent over, some looking up, and one carrying a decorative shield. Toward the center right, a small pale-faced child in a light dress is steadied by an older woman while other onlookers crowd around them. To the far right a mounted horse with a visible bridle stands beside richly dressed men, one wearing a turban-like headpiece and another in a fur-trimmed cloak. The background shows tall masonry with carved details and a clouded sky, and the overall image is rendered with fine cross-hatched lines and dramatic contrasts of light and shadow.
