Brussels: Decq et al., 1871., old man, walking-stick, staff, Thuringia, Eisenach, An aged person stands in a carved stone doorway wearing a long, heavy robe with patterned trim and a hood pulled over their head, one arm bent with a hand tucked into the robe and the other holding a long staff; the face shows deep lines and a serious expression, and the feet are shod in simple shoes with crossed legs; the surrounding stonework includes a column with carved details and a dark archway behind the figure, while folds and textures of the fabric and the etched surface of the stone are rendered with fine, linear strokes.
