The series consists of 54 plates, two of which are title prints: the first dedicated to Raphael, the second to Renard. The remaining 52 plates depict compositions by Raphael based on paintings in Raphael's Loggia in the Vatican. The series was published in 1649 by Pierre Mariette in Paris. A seated man with curly hair and a cloak draped over his shoulders leans against the pedestal, one arm resting on it while his other hand points to the pedestal surface; his legs are crossed and his clothing displays detailed folds. Behind the pedestal a bearded bust on a plinth depicts a long-haired male head and shoulders wrapped in a heavy cloak. To the right, a winged figure stands holding a wreath above the bust with one hand and a long trumpet resting on its shoulder with the other; flowing garments wrap around the standing figure and create billowing folds. Architectural elements, including a large column and an arched wall, form the background at left, while a small inset scene or medallion with a wreath and two small figures appears on the left wall.
