Behind her a seated figure is covered by a cloak or blanket and wears a wreath or crown of foliage on the head, while a standing young man behind that person holds a tool or instrument near the wreath and looks toward the viewer. The room contains ornate wall molding and a framed painting with indistinct figures mounted on the wall, and various small objects sit on the dressing table. The image is rendered in fine tonal shading with visible paper texture and a strip of handwritten script along the lower margin.
