One figure reclines slightly with an arm resting on the steps and a calm facial expression, hair styled and wearing a sleeved robe, while the other kneels nearby, leaning forward with head resting on a hand and clothed in similar drapery. The foreground includes rocky ground with tufts of vegetation and rounded cloud-like shapes, and the background features a dark, heavily hatched sky with light cloud forms. The lower edge of the image contains a horizontal frieze with ornamental scroll elements and rows of written text.
