In the background there are rocky outcrops, trees and shrubs, a winding path and distant hills beneath a sky with streaked shading and scattered cloud forms. To the right, smaller figures appear among vegetation, one carrying a bundle or branch, and the ground beneath the figures is detailed with textured grass, stones and roots. The image is composed with fine line work and hatching to create form and shading.
