Both wear flowing garments with visible folds and hair styled in classical fashion. Between and behind them rises a textured tree trunk with branches and leaves. On the right a muscular male figure sits on a rock, leaning forward with elbows resting on a staff and hands clasped, his gaze directed toward the women; his hair is curly and he wears a headband. In the background there are layered clouds and horizontal striations suggesting sky, along with distant hills, small clustered buildings, and scattered trees. The foreground rocks and drapery display fine crosshatching and linear shading throughout the composition.
