In the foreground a horse-drawn cart with two seated figures is moving along a path, the horses turned slightly toward the viewer. Nearby four standing figures are grouped by the roadside, two of them gesturing toward each other while one appears seated or crouched lower to the ground. The ground in front features a shallow water or reflective puddle and low vegetation. The middle ground contains rolling clusters of trees and shrubs, and small architectural forms appear among them. Pale clouds and a few small birds are visible in the sky. The entire composition is rendered in fine pen lines and wash, with textured shading on the trees and soft tonal gradations across the landscape.
