Beneath the trees a small group of clothed figures stand and sit, one seated figure gesturing toward two standing companions, while nearby animals graze along a shoreline and in shallow water. The middle distance shows a wide body of water with gentle ripples and distant low hills, and a winding path or road leads toward a rocky promontory where a cluster of ruins sits atop steep cliffs. Cloud formations and horizontal lines fill the sky, and the scene is rendered with fine hatch marks and washes that create depth and shading across the terrain.
