These were published bound in two volumes from 1777 onwards., landscape with ruins, triumphal arch, Rome, Forum Romanum, Arch of Septimius Severus, Temple of Jupiter Stator, A wide sepia-toned cityscape showing classical architecture and a busy open square, with tall columned buildings framing the scene on the right and a large arched structure on the left; the foreground contains scattered architectural fragments and fallen columns, groups of people in period clothing engaged in various activities, and a few figures sitting or kneeling near a raised platform; beyond them the square extends toward distant temples and towers under a sky filled with soft clouds, with small animals and carts visible among the crowds and a large tree with sweeping branches rising behind the columns on the right.
