In the background the Blauwbrug and the tower of the Zuiderkerk., in or after c. 1650, printmaker, paper, engraving, etching, height 117 mm x width 233 mm, A wide riverscape drawn in monochrome shows multiple boats of different sizes afloat on calm water, several with sails and flags and many with small figures aboard, some seated and some standing with oars. In the foreground a decorated prow with a patterned emblem faces the viewer, flanked by two long boats filled with rowers. Midground vessels include larger open boats with rows of people and a small rowboat with a single standing figure. The background features a low-lying town along the riverbank with tightly packed pitched-roof buildings, taller steeples and spires rising above the rooftops, a windmill with visible sails, and a long wooden bridge or quay extending along the shore. The sky above the scene is mostly blank with faint smudges and a small circular stamp near the top.
