Along the shore stand multi-story brick buildings with gabled roofs, many windows, chimneys, and architectural ornamentation, and a prominent classical-style building with arched openings and a decorative crest above its entrance. Figures in period clothing populate the quay and streets, some standing, some conversing, one leading a horse, a few seated or leaning on railings, and a dog on the pavement. The sky overhead is filled with textured clouds and lines suggesting atmospheric shading.
