A long, high wall or rampart stretches horizontally across the image, lined with evenly spaced trees on its outer side and beyond it a landscape of fields, orchards, and scattered houses. In the foreground, small groups of people engage in outdoor activities near grazing cattle and other livestock, with some figures standing and conversing and others seated on the ground, and a few solitary trees and bushes dotting the immediate area. The engraving is finely hatched with intricate line work and tonal shading throughout.
