In the foreground, turbulent water pours over a broken embankment, splashing around fallen trees and debris, while leafless, twisted trees stand partially submerged. On a rocky outcrop near the rushing water, a man stands with arms outstretched, balancing precariously. Nearby on the bank, a small group of men display animated gestures; one covers his face, another leans forward, and others raise their arms as if calling out. In the middle distance, scattered trees and low vegetation rise from the flooded fields, and a village with a church spire and other buildings is visible on the horizon. The image is rendered in fine, parallel line work and crosshatching, giving texture to the clouds, water, and landscape.
