Numerous figures in period clothing, including men in coats with hats and women in long dresses, are walking, standing, and conversing along the paths and near the fountain, with a few attendants carrying trays. In the background a straight avenue lined with dense rows of trees leads to a sculpted urn or pedestal framed by clipped hedges, and two small classical pavilions sit at the far left and right edges. The sky above is filled with layered, horizontally hatched clouds and scattered small birds. The foreground shows groups of people gathered near the bottom edge and small dogs on the paved area, with careful linear shading and engraved textures throughout.
