The other prints in this series are, as indicated on the title page, by Jan van Call (I)., canals, waters (in city), Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, A detailed monochrome engraving shows a riverside cityscape with rows of tall narrow buildings and a domed tower rising above the skyline, a cluster of chimneys and decorative rooflines along the waterfront, and numerous small sailing and row boats moored or moving on the water. Trees line the left bank and a larger tree appears near the right side among the buildings. Figures in small boats and along the shore are visible, some rowing or standing, and there is a low promenade or quay in front of the buildings. The sky is filled with textured clouds and horizontal line shading, and architectural details such as gables, windows, and a few flagpoles are rendered across the facades. The image has a bordered lower margin with unseen textual elements cropped at the bottom.
