Along the water, small sailboats and rowboats are moored, with figures on and near the boats handling barrels and ropes. On the quay a horse-drawn cart covered with a bundle is being led, and several people walk or stand in groups near the water’s edge and in front of the buildings. Trees rise behind a smaller riverside shed, and fine parallel lines and crosshatching create shading throughout the image.
