Boats with sails and oars are on the water, some with figures aboard and one with a large raised sail; a distant windmill and buildings, including a church steeple, appear along the far shore. Groups of people stand or sit along the banks and in shallow boats, and a cluster of small birds is drawn in the sky. The sky itself is filled with horizontal fine hatch marks suggesting clouds across the upper portion of the image.
