In the foreground a figure stands at the water's edge with a dog nearby, while along the left bank a tree with a leaning trunk and dense foliage stretches across the upper area. A small footbridge and a pair of people stand near its entrance, and trees and shrubs fill the middle ground with a hay wagon visible among them. Cattle graze in the distant field, and horizontal line work textures the sky and water throughout the image.
