Figures in period clothing walk and stand along the main avenue and terraces, some in pairs and small groups, and a few small dogs accompany them. Symmetrical rows of trees frame the middle distance, behind which a low balustrade and steps rise toward a pavilion or temple-like structure set at the center. The sky above is filled with layered, hatched cloud formations and small flocks of birds. The overall scene is rendered in fine line engraving with tonal hatching.
