To the left of the avenue stands a rectangular house with a hipped roof and small cupola, set behind hedges and a fence, and a smaller outbuilding sits nearby. Figures in period clothing walk and converse along the sidewalks, one person leading a small dog, and other figures carry items or attend to the horses. The sky is filled with layered clouds rendered in fine lines, and birds appear among the clouds. The overall image is composed of detailed line engraving with crosshatching to indicate texture and shading.
