Amsterdam: Pierre Fouquet, sa, church (exterior), village (city(-scape) with figures, staffage), Wamel, A sepia-toned etching showing a village scene with a large building on the right that has a steep tiled roof, small dormer windows, a small tower with a domed cap and spire, and three large arched openings on its facade. Tall, narrow trees stand in front of and beside the building, their textured foliage rendered with fine lines. On the left and center are clusters of thatched and gabled houses with visible chimneys and varied rooflines. In the foreground a paved area or square is visible with several small groups of people standing and walking, some near a low wall or ledge and one person accompanied by a small dog. A cart and horse are parked near the houses on the left, and a small well or pavilion structure appears among the trees. The sky is filled with horizontal hatch lines and large, softly outlined clouds, and a few small birds are drawn against the sky.
