Amsterdam: Hendrik Bosch, 1721., castle, Poederoijen, Loevestein Castle, A detailed ink drawing of a large multi-story building complex with varied rooflines and towers set behind a wide body of water, the central structure showing a tall gabled facade with small rectangular windows and a conical roofed turret, flanked by taller plain towers with narrow windows; to the right are smaller steeply pitched roofs, stepped gables, and a covered bridgelike structure leading to an ensemble of low buildings, while the left side shows more distant small rooftops and a pointed steeple partially obscured by trees; foreground vegetation includes clusters of leafy trees and shrubs along the water’s near bank, and the sky is rendered with fine horizontal lines and a few soft, rounded cloud shapes.
