Behind the bridge a tree-lined avenue recedes toward distant buildings and a small group of people and horses in the middle distance. Flanking the bridge are multi-story classical buildings with rows of tall windows, pitched roofs, chimneys, and ornate pediments. In the foreground two figures walk away from the viewer across a paved bridge surface while a seated figure and a dog are nearby. The sky is filled with textured clouds rendered in fine horizontal and stippled lines.
