The figure faces slightly to the viewer’s left with his right arm extended outward and his left arm bent, holding a spherical object and a draped cloth that falls beside his side. A diagonal strap crosses his chest, and a short cloak or mantle is gathered over one shoulder. Muscular anatomy is carefully rendered, including a defined torso and limbs. At the figure’s side there is a vertical bundled column or fasces-like support resting on the base. The background consists of closely spaced horizontal lines creating a textured plane behind the statue. The composition is bordered by an etched frame around the image.
