Print is part of an album., number: '82', printmaker: Pietro Sante Bartoli, Italy, after design by Giovanni Lanfranco, dedicated to: Giovanni Battista Borghese, 1665, paper, etching, height 228 mm x width 267 mm, A detailed black and white engraving shows a framed central panel with a scene of robed and partially nude figures, including a kneeling figure in the foreground with a hand to the chest, a muscular figure holding a curved sword above another prostrate figure, and a group of armed figures with helmets and spears behind them; the framed scene is flanked by two large standing robed statues with bearded faces on either side, ornate scrollwork and floral motifs decorate the top of the frame, and below the panel a garland of fruit and foliage is draped between sculpted supports with a central carved mask.
