According to a note on the verso, the print was on p. 192 of this album., Asiatic races and peoples (with NAME), A tall vertical engraving shows a large central portrait of a woman’s head wearing a headscarf and bead-like adornments, framed by an ornate arch filled with floral scrollwork. Above the portrait are two winged cherubic figures perched on the arch. Below the portrait a group of five women dressed in flowing garments stand and dance with raised arms and draped scarves, surrounded by smaller cherubs who climb and play among the decorative foliage. At the bottom an elaborate stylized lotus-like motif and scrolling acanthus ornamentation form a heavy base, with additional small figures and decorative flourishes filling the side borders. The entire composition is rendered in fine linework with detailed shading on a pale background.
