Volumes one and two appeared in 1612. In 1615 the third volume appeared and in 1628 volume four appeared. In 1637 Vitale Mascardi published the first reissue of the entire set with numbering., temple, shrine, Roman religion, representation of real building (either existing or having existed), Temple of Minerva (Rome), Forum of Minerva, A detailed black and white architectural engraving showing a frontal view of a large classical building complex with rows of arched doorways and windows, flanked by sections with columns and pediments, domed towers rising behind the façade, and sculptural figures atop a central roof. The foreground plaza contains a circular fountain with a basin and a standing water feature, tall slender columns with square bases, and small groups of human figures depicted in simple line work. The composition includes additional buildings in the midground and background with pitched roofs, rounded towers with horizontal banding, and narrow trees at the far edges, all rendered with fine hatching and parallel shading.
