In 1637, Vitale Mascardi published the first reissue of the entire set with numbering., garden, palace, Quirinal, Palazzo del Quirinale, An engraved bird’s-eye view shows a large formal complex with a multi-story building fronting a courtyard where carriages, horses, and small groups of people are depicted; behind the building are rectilinear garden beds arranged in rows with low walls and decorative urns, fountains and statues placed at intersections, clipped trees and alleys dividing the planted areas, terraced slopes with patterned planting, a circular basin set into a paved area, and a long tree-lined avenue at the top edge; smaller architectural elements include a pavilion with a domed roof, gatehouses, staircases, and walled enclosures, while figures in period dress walk the paths and tend the grounds across an overall geometric, highly detailed landscape.
