According to a note on the verso, the print was located on p. 121 of this album., the soldier, the soldier's life, Netherlands, Friesland, A detailed black and white etching shows a group of bearded men wearing animal skins and helmets with horns gathered around a central stone cartouche topped with piled shields, helmets, and weapons; one seated figure rests with a winged creature at his side while another stands with a staff and a cloak, pointing toward a distant battlefield scene where armored soldiers with shields and spears are engaged in combat and fallen figures lie on the ground; scattered in the foreground are spears, shields, a helmet, and other armor pieces, and decorative foliage appears near the base of the cartouche.
